23: How She Stopped People Pleasing at Work & Ended up Engagement Ring Shopping - with Nicky Howard
Something I see so commonly among corporate female leaders: long days, edging on burnout, unable to unplug - and the effects that has on your relationships as well. It's especially common in metrics-driven environments. Nicky is a badass babe who created a lot of success, but was feeling emotionally overwhelmed. She had never invested in herself before beyond manicures, but she knew she wanted a leadership coach for her next level, liked that I cover the professional & the personal, & became a private client. We started with sharpening her leadership skills, however, what was really holding her back? the drive "to be likeable". It was a drag on her performance, her confidence, and her relationships - that is, until she got clear on what she *really* wanted (even more than being liked), and started holding the new standard.
Listen & learn how she...
- stopped being a people pleaser, held her team accountable like a pro and was able to finally go on vacation without checking her email
- ignited a new passion at work & people are still talking about it
- shifted from complaining into communicating her desires with her boyfriend in a womanly way - and he started gathering budget for a ring for his Queen
- overcame her body image negative self talk, got back into the gym & is positively radiant
